What is the Open Innovation Platform (OIP)?
The Open Innovation Platform (OIP) is a virtual crowd-sourcing platform that matches challenges of Problem Owners to a pool of Problem Solvers. It is an ecosystem where innovation is open for all.
- Enterprises, large and small, can access a diverse pool of ideas and capabilities to address their innovation needs.
- ICM innovators and companies can have better visibility of real business challenge and opportunities in the region.
- Collaborations that generate opportunities for co-creation, commercialisation and scaling up of innovative digital solution
How does it work?
We will launch Innovation Calls on the OIP every few months. Each Innovation Call will comprise a set of challenges from different Problem Owners. Each challenge is accompanied with prize awards for winning solutions that are selected based on the criteria of Problem Owners.
There are three categories of challenges on the OIP:
Ideation: where problem owners are seeking new innovative ideas to address a specific challenge problem, typically requiring a written proposal with potential implementation option.
Proof-of-Concept: where problem owners are seeking the ability to demonstrate the technical viability of key concepts or modules or features within the proposed solution. This is typically seen or experienced in a lab setting or as an isolated exercise.
Prototype: where problem owners are seeking a demonstration of a working prototype tested in an intended or simulated environment. This could be extended into a larger pilot deployment at the problem owners’ site.
