Minister Lee Boon Yang attends the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Telecom World 2003

Dr Lee Boon Yang, Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts will attend the ITU (International Telecommunications Union) TELECOM WORLD 2003 in Geneva from 9 to 13 October 2003. It is the world’s largest conference and exhibition for the telecommunications sector with a huge turnout of industry leaders, forum speakers and visitors.

The ITU TELECOM WORLD 2003 provides insights into the latest developments in the global telecommunications and IT industry. It also provides an opportunity to meet with international leaders from this sector.

Dr Lee will deliver a keynote address titled "Is Market Liberalisation Working?" at a Plenary Session on 13 October 2003. He will also meet Mr Yoshio Utsumi, ITU Secretary General and key industry leaders and policy makers during this conference.

Following the trip, Dr Lee will visit the Republics of Italy and Turkey from 17 to 26 October 2003. He will be visiting prestigious arts, cultural and design institutions and schools in these countries to build on Singapore's efforts over the past few years to enhance Singapore’s arts and cultural ties with Italy and Turkey.
