New Web Site on Bird Flu - www.birdflu.gov.sg

06/02/2004

The Ministry of Information, Communications & the Arts (MITA) has launched a new web site - http://www.birdflu.gov.sg - containing basic information (such as FAQs) on the avian influenza that has been affecting countries in the region.

The site will integrate relevant information on avian influenza from the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) and make it available to visitors in the most user-friendly way.

In addition, it will connect visitors to relevant information on related sites such as the Emergency Public Information Centre (EPIC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (USCDC) and sars.com.sg.

www.birdflu.gov.sg will also be updated daily with the latest news, developments and government press releases on avian influenza. It is hoped that the site will serve as a central portal making information on the disease readily available to all visitors to the site.
