Dr Lee Boon Yang attends The Asean Telecommunications and I.T. Ministers' Meeting

Dr Lee Boon Yang, Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts will attend the 4th ASEAN Telecommunications and I.T. Ministers' Meeting (ASEAN TELMIN) in Bangkok from 4 to 5 August 2004.

2.     Dr Lee will meet key ASEAN ICT Ministers and Ministerial counterparts from China, Japan, Korea and India to discuss the progress and future plans for the ASEAN TELMIN work programme and the e-ASEAN Framework Agreement. He will address the ASEAN TELMIN as the outgoing Chairman of the ASEAN TELMIN as well as the Head of the Singapore Delegation and also speak at an e-Learning Ministerial Roundtable and meet with members from the ASEAN ICT industry.

3.     Organised in-conjunction with the ASEAN TELMIN is the Bangkok ICT Expo 2004 from 4 to 8 August 2004. It is an ICT exhibition featuring the latest telecommunication and IT innovation.

4.     Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) will lead a group of local companies to participate in this Expo. These companies provide a comprehensive suite of services in the areas of Integrated e-Government Solutions, Technology Solutioning and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Solutions. They will be housed under the Singapore Pavilion with the theme "Singapore - Your Partner in Asia". The companies are AXS Infocomm Pte Ltd, CrimsonLogic Pte Ltd, Ecquaria Technologies, FOCUs5.NET Pte Ltd, NCS Pte Ltd and Netrust Pte Ltd.

5.     Dr Lee will be accompanied by officials from MITA and IDA.
