Your story. Your life experience.

Our four acclaimed directors want to hear it from you.

This is not just another film project. This is a blank canvas where you will draw the first stroke.

MCI is inviting you to be part of Singapore’s first crowdsourced short-film initiative on cultural diversity and social integration. This project is a collaboration between four prominent filmmakers – Eric Khoo, K. Rajagopal, Kelvin Tong and Sanif Olek – and the Ministry of Communications and Information.

Kicking off with a film contest to find four best 30-word story ideas, the contest awards a cash prize of $5,000 for each winning entry. Winners will have the rare opportunity to be mentored by one of the 4 filmmakers and see their story ideas being brought to life in 4 short films of 3-10min each.

As the name “Lapis Sagu” suggests, we are looking for stories that celebrate the colourful tapestry of Singapore’s social fabric. Bring forth your heart-warming and entertaining stories in no more than 30 words!

For more details, please visit We look forward to your participation and support.

Call for submissions close on 11 Dec 2016, so hurry and tell us you stories!
