Why Season 2?

4 “In Season 2 of “Eat Already?”, relevant information for the elderly on various government schemes and initiatives will be packaged in bite-sized formats to ensure easier absorption and retention. The drama will also include useful tips on dengue prevention, not falling prey to scams and preventing elderly abuse. By communicating with seniors in a language that they are most familiar, we hope to connect with them at a deeper level," said Ms Karen Tan, Senior Director of MCI’s Public Communications Division.

5 MCI’s survey found that almost all of the seniors who watched “Eat Already?” Season 1 had an increased awareness of government initiatives and support schemes.  84% of seniors who watched the show found government schemes and policies easy to understand, compared to 71% for those who did not watch the show.

6 Mediacorp’s viewership data showed that Season 1 attracted over 200,000 TV viewers per episode, which is much higher than the average viewership for the 12pm to 12.30pm time slot in the preceding months.

New Opening Theme Song

7 “Eat Already? 2” will feature a specially commissioned opening theme song titled 《指引》 (“You Light My Way”) by local singer Kit Chan.

8 It is an inspirational and emotive song that exalts the spirit and values of our pioneer generation, capturing the courage, faith, resilience and perseverance to build a better life.

9 Penned by local songwriter Jim Lim(林倛玉)and experienced lyricist Colin Qi (祁哲泉), both of whom have worked with the likes of Jacky Cheung and A-Mei, this Cantonese song highlights how the younger generation can face our future with strength and hope, thanks to our pioneers’ hard work.
