Helmed by popular character “Liang Xi Mei” (梁细妹), Happy Can Already! 《欢喜就好》 is back for a second season! The 10-episode dialect variety series will debut on 19 May 2017 (Friday) on Channel 8. It is commissioned by the Ministry of Communications and Information, and is produced jointly with Mediacorp and J Team.
Reception for Season 1
2 The new season returns after an overwhelming response to the first season, with over 200,000 TV viewers per episode. Many called for the show to be continued when it ended its run on 3 February 2017.
3 In an independent survey conducted by Blackbox with seniors aged 60 and above, 84% of the seniors surveyed said they found the information on government policies and schemes provided in the programme easy to understand. In addition, 86% of the seniors indicated that the information was useful to them in their daily life.
Enhancing communication with seniors in Season 2
4 To further enhance the communications with seniors, Season 2 of 《欢喜就好》will be extended to 1 hour and will go beyond the current song and informational skit segment to include more educational components. Through an interactive game segment, the show will reinforce useful tips and life skills, enabling seniors to learn through humour and relatable everyday scenarios. Experts will be invited to discuss topics relevant to the elderly, including retirement issues, healthy living and active aging. Viewers can also look forward to show-and-tell demonstrations by doctors, nutritionists and exercise trainers.

Return of everyone’s favourite skit character
5 In the skit segment, “Liang Xi Mei” (梁细妹) will be reacquainted with Lion King and Merlion King, as they turn out to be her new neighbours. Viewers can look forward to more hilarious antics between the two families in their interactions as neighbours in this installment.
Happy Can Already! 2 《欢喜就好2》debuts 19 May (Friday) from 11.30am to 12.30pm, on Channel 8.
