Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Communications and Information, will attend the inaugural G20 Digital Ministers’ Meeting on “Digitalisation: Policies for a Digital Future” in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 6 to 7 April 2017.

2 The meeting will discuss digitalisation for employment and economic growth, and the need to build digital skills and capabilities. Singapore appreciates the Federal Republic of Germany’s invitation to participate in the G20 Digital Ministers’ Meeting to exchange views with G20 members, partner countries and representatives of major international organisations.  

3 In Germany, Dr Yaacob will be accompanied by Member of Parliament Ms Jessica Tan, who will represent Singapore at the Women in Parliaments (WIP) G20 Roundtable on “Digitalisation: Policies for a Digital Future”. 

4 Prior to the G20 Digital Ministers’ Meeting, from 4 to 6 April 2017, Dr Yaacob will visit the Netherlands, where he will discuss cybersecurity cooperation with the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice. He will visit the Amsterdam Public Library, National Archives of Netherlands, National Library of Netherlands, and University of Leiden Libraries to study their experience and ways to enhance the Singapore collections and use of library spaces.

5 Dr Yaacob will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Communications and Information, the Infocomm Media Development Authority and the National Library Board.
