Senior Parliamentary Secretary Yatiman Yusof attends Inaugural Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers Responsible for Culture and Arts (AMCA)

Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Information, Communications and the Arts, Mr Yatiman Yusof, is attending the Inaugural Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers Responsible for Culture and Arts (AMCA) from 13-14 October at Kuala Lumpur. Mr Yatiman represents the Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts, Dr Lee Boon Yang, who is currently attending a meeting in Geneva.

The AMCA meeting aims to build on existing platforms such as the ASEAN Committee on Culture and Information to promote close cooperation in cultural matters among ASEAN member countries.

The AMCA meeting is followed by the AMCA+3 meeting which involves the three dialogue partners, namely the People’s Republic of China, Japan and Republic of Korea.

In conjunction with AMCA, Malaysia is also hosting the ASEAN Festival of Arts from 14-18 October. It is a showcase of cultural performances by the ASEAN+3 nations. Odyssey Dance Theatre is representing Singapore at the Festival.

Mr Yatiman is accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry.
